If you need assistance with paying rent, contact the Homelessness Prevention Call Center by dialing 3-1-1 or (312) 744-5000 and ask for “short-term help.”

For callers who are deaf, hard of hearing, or speech impaired, please dial (312) 948-6817. State homelessness prevention funds are available for those with documented needs.

The Call Center is open Monday to Thursday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. They will refer you to a community organization that manages these funds.
